Google X Lab working on smart contact lens to measure Glucose levels

Google Smart Contact Lens
The Google X Lab is back again with an interesting hardware. But this time it is not any tablet or Smartphone, instead it is a “smart contact lens,” which will help diabetes patients to track their glucose levels. This smart contact lens has got a miniaturized wireless chip and glucose monitor which will measure the glucose levels from the wearer’s tears.
According to Google, it will be less painful to check the Glucose levels with a smart contact lens than testing blood droplets multiple times a day. Google wants to make the smart contact lens a warning device for when glucose level start dropping, the company is also planning to integrate  a minuscule LED light in the lens for indicating the dropping glucose level.
This project is still in the development process and the company is working with the FDA. The company is also looking for some new partners who are “experts in bringing products like this to market.”
